Hello, I am Tina.

From graduation through government work, years at the SPCA, and now as partner at Allens Nek Vet, I’ve built my expertise across every corner of veterinary science and pet care. Some call it the deep end. After 7 years of study and over a decade in practice, I would say it is the only way to truly understand this world.

What I did not expect was finding my home here, surrounded by the glorious chaos and pure genius that our animal patients bring daily. Dr Roelof and I run an independent practice where exceptional care comes first, where treatment decisions are guided purely by what’s best for your animal. No corporate pressures, no upselling targets, just genuine expertise and attention.

For 2026, we are opening the doors wider. We’ll be blogging and documenting the beautiful madness of daily practice life, sharing stories of the incredible animals we treat and the talented, passionate team who makes it all possible. Because this work deserves to be celebrated.

The girl from the mother city, through Pretoria, to Jozi. Glass-half-full. Deceivingly little in stature (*insert the infamous dynamite quote here*), with the bubbly personality of champers, cool and collected most days, who truly appreciates the delicate art and responsibility of caring for animals.

I’m well acclimatised here. Growing up with two brothers, married to a charming, fun-loving animal himself, and working alongside this wonderfully mad practice family means I fit right in. Being one myself (at least once a month), I reckon the animals would agree.

Beyond this passion, I explore cooking, creative writing, dancing, floodlit tennis, and early morning meditation. My two Sons, my balance in all things.
